Our Data and Analytics function is growing, and we have created Data Intelligence Analyst role to support delivery of the Management Information (MI) and Business Intelligence (BI) products to our business and customers. We’d like you to help us implement best practice and centre of excellence for all our MI & BI activity.

You’ll be performing activities and utilising analytical tools to discover trends and insights from data to improve business processes and to recognize insights within the automotive and motor insurance marketplace. Your North Star will be customer focus and value driven delivery of quality data products.

What will you be doing?

  • Capturing all user and business requests in the Enterprise Data backlog, ensuring they are acknowledged and responded to within internal SLAs
  • Translating business requirements into repeatable insight for the wider business and external customers
  • Collaborating with different business units and stakeholders to understand their analytical needs, identify critical metrics/ KPIs and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
  • Implementing BI tools and delivery of best practises within the Enterprise Data Team.
  • Building strong relationships and collaborating cross-functionally to transfer knowledge that supports the development of other departments’ research and processes.
  • Plan, develop and update the complex modelling and analysis activities.
  • Maintaining functional documents using agreed methodologies. 
  • Defining outcomes and measure as the basis for Agile iteration
  • Supporting testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing, of solutions  
Essential skills & experience that will make you comfortable in our team:
  • At least 2 years’ experience delivering BI & MI solutions within a Data team, including dashboards and reports.
  • Understanding queries and data visualisations for ad hoc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects.
  • Ability to elicit requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into actionable data solutions and delivering products focused on customer value.
  • Practical experience following BI & MI best practices to ensure high quality outputs and efficiency.
  • Identify, acquire, and use appropriate data sets to develop practical solutions and support decision making.
  • Extract, integrate, and manipulate critical data to build data pipelines, automate reports and dashboards to communicate your results, and leverage self-service tools for internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop, document, and manage solutions for new and existing key metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to support business requirements.
Additional skills we’d welcome in our team:
  • Data visualization and Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, MS PowerBI, MicroStrategy)
  • Data Management experience including Data Modelling (3NF, Data Vault)
  • Data Quality Management
  • Understanding of ETL process and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with agile data delivery

About you

You're an experienced Data Analyst with a passion for visual communication and data storytelling, with a desire to learn, build and expand your skillset. You enjoy using statistical / mathematical methodologies to answer key questions with a focus on driving the business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement, efficiency and productivity.

With extensive practical experience and a strong analytical mind-set, you’ll feel comfortable handling complex, high-volume, high dimensional data and enjoy maintaining an advanced knowledge of trends affecting the industry. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

When we work

Our standard working hours are 8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 8:30 - 15:45 Fridays (talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you!)

Our blended working approach means you’ll spend time working from our head office in Thatcham and from home should you wish to. Our Data team typically work in the office 2 days a week.
