B33 DIRECT GLAZING PROCEDURES

INTENDED FOR Both experienced and inexperienced personnel who require to further their knowledge of automotive glazing replacemen.
OBJECTIVES To be able to install indirect and direct glazed units successfully and safely. During all aspects of the course we emphasise customer care, preparation and protection of the vehicle and contents.
NOTE All Thatcham courses are certificated with either successfully completed or attended in the text. The certificate issued will be determined by the individuals ability and the final results of any end-of-course test, to ensure the delegate meets the required standard.
CONTENT 1) Health & Safety and glass handling
2) Introduction to direct glazing
3) 2K adhesive
4) Preparatory work
5) Removal of direct bonded and encapsulated screens
6) Preparation of the bonding surfaces (body and glass)
7) Application of adhesive
8) Installation procedures

TA7 ATA BODYSHOP GLAZING
DURATION 1 day(s)
INTENDED FOR The ATA assessments should be of interest for companies aiming to achieve the BSI Kitemark Standard in view of the recently released PAS 125 document. It may also be of interest for those technicians working within the industry who wish to attain recognition for their level of skills.

A 1.0 day assessment to assess a candidates underpinning knowledge by on–line test and their practical skills through a series of workshop tasks relating to their occupation.
OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of all the elements of the assessments day the candidate will have demonstrated their competence at Technician Level.

To ensure currency of assessments the IMI have stated that no more that 12 months may elapse between the first assessment and the last successful assessment. Therefore once the 12 month period has expired, a delegate will be required to commence all elements of their chosen assessment from the beginning.

Successful candidates will be issued with an ATA card which will be valid for 5 years from the date of completion. Pre–Requisite: A minimum of 3 years experience in an appropriate role.
CONTENT The body shop glazing assessment will comprise of an on line knowledge test and a practical assessment. These should identify the competence of the technician and best practice throughout the assessments. The practical assessments will include the following vehicle areas:

1) R/R Non encapsulated screen
2) R/R trims associated with front screen aperture
3) R/R Encapsulated front screen
4) Identify PU cure times and application requirements
5) R/R frameless door drop glass including trim, and set to VM specifications

TA7R ATA GLAZING RETAKES
DURATION 1 day(s)
INTENDED FOR This is aimed at delegates who have attended the ATA Bodyshop Glazing (TA7) and have been referred on one or two practical elements.
OBJECTIVES To complete the ATA in Bodyshop Glazing
NOTE We have designed this particular session for any candidates that have been on an ATA and referred. However it is only available for candidates who have been referred on one or two practical elements.

If a candidate has been referred on three or more practical elements, they will be required to resit a whole new assessment from scratch and would therefore need to apply to attend TA7.

The price of this assessment will vary depending on the elements that the individual delegate needs to retake. Please discuss the price with our ATA team on 01635 294851

TA-IT ATA TASK INTENSIVE TRAINING
DURATION 0.5 day(s)
INTENDED FOR Delegates who have been referred after taking either the ATA Technician Accreditation or the ATA Senior Technician Accreditation
OBJECTIVES To undertake intensive training in the task/s relating to the referral items in their particular discipline for the ATA Accreditation
NOTE We have designed this particular session for any delegates that have undertaken an ATA and have been referred. However, it is only available for delegates who have been referred on one or two elements.

The cost of this intensive training will be charged at £195 + vat per delegate.

Once the delegate has attended the intensive training, they will be able to undertake a retake for those referred tasks in their chosen discipline.

The price of a partial retake will vary depending on the particular elements on which the individual delegate has been referred.

If a delegate has been referred on three or more practical elements, it is highly recommended that the delegate attends the Preparation course designed for their relevant discipline, prior to a full retake of their particular assessment.

The IMI have stated that no more that 12 months may elapse between the first assessment and the last successful assessment. Therefore once the 12 month period has expired, a delegate will be required to commence all elements of their chosen assessment from the beginning.
