Setting the Standards, Raising the SkillsAs part of our overall mission statement 'Setting the Standards…' is fundamental to everyone at Thatcham and has been since the research centre was founded in 1969.Thatcham Times System (TTS) was the first example of where we looked to set standards. Our innovative and unique approach to repair times remains to this day, but has evolved continually, and we now offer our comprehensive and timely repair data through our CD or internet based flagship product - escribe and via raw data direct to software houses. We then began our work with Vehicle Security, setting the standards on whole vehicle security assessments, for which we are now known throughout the world. More examples of standard setting include our work with accreditation of parts and repair and security equipment as well as categorising of aftermarket security solutions. Most recently, we have been setting standards in partnership with BSI, in the form of the Vehicle Body Repair Kitemark. The cornerstones of the Kitemark are identified as Man, Machine, Materials and Methods and by following the links you can see how Thatcham continues to support the industry through these foundations and in pursuit of safe, quality repair. |
