Agricultural and Construction Plant security systems designed for after-sales fitment are evaluated by Thatcham for compliance with the British Insurance Industry’s Criteria for Security Systems (Plant)The assessment requires the security system manufacturer to complete an application form describing the security system. Machines fitted with the security system are provided and Thatcham then conduct installation inspections and attack tests. Laboratory tests are carried on the system components. The attack tests include attempting to move the machine under its own power without the use of keys using only commonly identified theft methods. Security Systems that comply with the criteria are awarded a certificate and place on the Vehicle Security National Listing. The listing is the main point of reference for insurance companies.
