Thatcham Times System (TTS)

The Thatcham Time System (TTS) is a comprehensive database for use in estimating accident damage. It contains times for replacing parts and panels, and is the only times system available that also incorporates the repair method.

TTS, launched in 1995, is recognised as a standard by insurers and repairers, industry-wide and allows negotiations to be concluded promptly and fairly. TTS times are recognised for their transparency and auditability. We can trace any TTS time and check its accuracy at any time, on any vehicle.

The system creates times by computer analysis —

• For the removal and replacement of panels and parts by evaluating the number and type of welds
• For the removal and replacement of mechanical, electrical or trim items by analysis of the number of bolts, clips or screws
• For the refinishing time where applicable. The paint database was reviewed and updated in 2002 to reflect modern day methods and EPA compliant materials

TTS times, in conjunction with parts prices from the Thatcham Parts System (TPS), are now incorporated into the majority of estimating systems to assist in the preparation of fully comprehensive, accurate estimates. TTS times are also available on escribe, Thatcham's electronic subscription.
