My Vehicle

Thatcham are working to influence manufacturers to improve vehicle security and seat design. The results of this research are available here and can help you choose a vehicle which is designed to be both safe and secure.

Cars: Each car is rated for its Security on a scale of 1 star for the worst to 5 stars for the most secure. Seats are rated for their ability to prevent Whiplash on a scale of Good (G), Acceptable (A), Marginal (M) or Poor (P). For Group Rating, cars are banded into one of twenty groups with other cars of similar characteristics (see details). ESC is rated by GREEN, Means ESC is standard fit: buy this model with confidence. YELLOW, Check if the vehicle you wish to buy has ESC fitted: if not you will have to pay for it. RED, CAUTION! ESC not available.

HGVs: Each HGV is rated for its Security on a scale of 1 star for the worst to 10 stars for the most secure.
